Looking Back: January 2018

Posted on December 26, 2018 by Leanne Staples

It’s always good to look back and see where you’ve been before moving on to the new. In January 2018 I was in London, England and did quite a few multiple exposure photos. You can see more of them on my site.

At Tate Modern 12

Posted on August 9, 2018July 29, 2018 by Leanne Staples

At Tate Modern is a series of 12 intentional camera movement photos that I did while in London at the beginning of this year. If you are interested in learning abstract photography techniques I do photo tours in New York City where we can work on them.

About

My approach to photography has always been about experimenting, making so-called mistakes and allowing chance to play a part in the process. Chance of course is a big part of street photography as many elements must align to capture a decisive moment.

Although I have managed to gain a reputation as a street photographer over the years, abstract photography has become my main focus. My abstract photography is very much influenced by painting. Blurring the lines between the two mediums to produce work that draws the viewer into my world to see images without the need to label.

This blog is where I share some of the abstract photographs I create. Aside from my street, urban and abstract photography, I’m also a licensed New York City tour guide.

Thanks for visiting!

Leanne.
